About the Role

We are seeking an Estimator, ideally from a Civil and Mechanical background, to join our Pre-Contracts team in our Head Office in Perth CBD.


About You

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following experience; 

  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in Civil and Mechanical Estimating.
  • Previous experience estimating within a building & construction environment, ideally SMP (Structural, Mechanical, Pipeline).
  • Previous experience in estimating within Solar / BESS is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability in comprehension and interpretation of contractual documents, specifications and drawings.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in contract tendering procedures.
  • Demonstrated experience in pricing a wide range of renewable energy projects.

Core Skills of the roles include:

  • Proficient in the use of estimating software such as Expert Estimating or equivalent.
  • Excellent measurement and quantity take-off skills.
  • Ability to schedule works using Microsoft project or P6.
  • Ability to write technical submissions in support of wider tender bids
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Flexible approach to working hours and meeting strict deadlines.
  • Understanding and compliance with company procedural requirements.

What will you do?

  • Lead or support bid from concept to completion.
  • Ensure tender is managed in a timely manner to allow adequate time for senior management review.
  • Positively manage relationships with sub-contractors, suppliers and consultants.
  • Explore creative value engineering opportunities.
  • Mentor and share experience with junior team members.
  • Assist in the development of the tender strategy and manage the tender deliverables.
  • Identify risk and ensure all risks are recorded and accounted for within the tender.
  • Attend tender reviews with senior management and ensure all action items are recorded and closed out.
  • Ensure tender submissions meet any closure deadlines and are in the format required by the prospective client.
  • Manage post tender correspondence and respond to queries raised under the approval of the Pre-Contracts Manager.
  • Support the Pre-Contracts Manager and Commercial Manager in negotiations with Clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
