The opportunity

As one of Mipac’s Senior AVEVA PI Specialists, your main responsibilities will involve working with our domestic and international clients to improve and optimise their operations by making data driven decisions. This is a role with plenty of opportunities to grow your skillset while being supported by approachable management and an inclusive, diverse team.

On any given day in this role, you may:

  • Undertake and coordinate integration projects in Australia and overseas that enhance client’s useful performance data availability and decision making capability
  • Provide sound engineering and analysis techniques to understand client needs and utilise relevant tools/methodologies to identify solutions
  • Undertake engineering investigations, designs and calculations, prepare engineering documentation, and apply sound engineering practices to achieve the objectives of quality, schedule and budgeted hours
  • Develop and maintain a full working knowledge of the Mipac and partner software utilised in delivering Digital Solutions Implementation integrations
  • Support clients with their on-going operations by maintaining and optimising their data historian
  • Review and audit data historian deployments
  • Provide technical advice and assistance to other members of the team
  • Evaluate new technologies and methods for future applications

About you

Ideally, you will have:

  • Degree in Engineering (metallurgy, process, chemical, mechatronic, electrical), Computer Science or other relevant tertiary qualification
  • 7+ years’ demonstrated industry experience in historians
  • Extensive AVEVA PI System experience, including development of Asset Framework solutions
  • Experience with MES and other Historians (in addition to AVEVA PI)
  • Experience with integration Process Control Systems data into historians
  • Experience with installation, configuration, validation and tuning Historians and interfaces
  • Working knowledge of SQL and Oracle databases and scripting
  • Experience with process analysis, and creating reports using historian data
  • Solid understanding of the fundamentals of Windows OS, networking and system security
  • 2+ years’ demonstrated industry experience in energy and resources would be an advantage
  • Willingness to travel to site (domestically and internationally) occasionally as required
