The Position
Mipac is growing rapidly and diversifying which gives rise to this great opportunity for us to seek an experienced Senior Control Systems Engineer with strong Honeywell experience to join our busy operations team.
You will be exposed to a rich mix of experiences in a broad range of projects and clients. As one of Mipac’s Senior Control Systems Engineers, you will have a diverse range of responsibilities from leading teams through to hands on development of technical solutions. You could be performing as a discipline lead for a multi million dollar fully integrated and digitised control infrastructure, developing standards for a new control platform or be mentoring graduates.
You will be immersed in teams of specialised multiskilled and diverse E,I&C and Digital Solutions professionals so support will always be available.
Responsibilities will include:
- Maintain a strong focus on workplace health and safety.
- Act as a Honeywell SME on client projects.
- Control system design, application software standards development, documentation, configuration and testing.
- Accept responsibility for the accuracy, quality and timeliness of application software and system design performed directly and for that performed by assigned staff.
- Monitor and manage the work of self and other engineers to ensure compliance with technical and quality assurance standards as well as company goals and procedures.
- Participate in the engineering peer group and exchange ideas and feedback within the team.
- Carry out site visits to liaise with clients, gather data, inspect installations or manufacturing progress or perform commissioning tasks.
- Participate in multidiscipline project teams and interact with partners as required Evaluate new technologies and methods for future applications.
- Train and mentor graduates and lower level engineers.
- Assist in business development activities as required.
- Maintain and develop the company’s client base by wining client’s satisfaction and trust during the performance of assigned projects.
- Maintain a focus on efficiency and profitability by giving and seeking clear and unambiguous instructions.
About You
- You have a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from a recognised Australian institution (or equivalent).
- You have relevant automation experience and have a strong desire to maintain your learning of new systems and technologies.
- 7+ years’ relevant experience as a Senior Engineer.
- Specialist in Honeywell Control Systems.
- You also enjoy leading technical teams and finding solutions to problems.
- Mineral processing experience and/or industrial site and commissioning experience will be highly regarded but not essential.
- Working towards or have obtained RPEQ.
