The Opportunity

Mipac is seeking Control Systems Engineers to join our team delivering complex control systems projects across Australia and internationally.

With multiple major Greenfields projects recently awarded, this is an opportunity to build your experience on large-scale projects from the ground up, gaining exposure to control system design, configuration and delivery across the full project lifecycle.

This role suits engineers with 3–4 years’ experience who are looking to deepen their technical capability, work on meaningful projects, and continue developing under the guidance of experienced engineers.

You will contribute across design, FATs and commissioning phases, with opportunities to be involved in site-based activities both domestically and internationally.

This is a hands-on role where you will develop practical experience, take on increasing responsibility, and build the skills needed to progress into more senior engineering roles over time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design, configuration and testing of PLC, SCADA and DCS systems.
  • Support delivery of control systems projects across Greenfields and brownfield environments.
  • Assist with FATs, commissioning and site activities, including travel where required.
  • Work with senior engineers, clients and vendors to deliver practical, fit-for-purpose solutions.
  • Apply structured problem-solving skills to technical challenges.
  • Build knowledge of engineering standards, governance requirements and project delivery processes.
  • Collaborate effectively within project teams and contribute to a positive team environment.

About You

You are an Engineer who:

  • Has 3–4 years’ experience in industrial control systems or a related field.
  • Has hands-on exposure to PLC and/or SCADA systems (e.g. Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider, Yokogawa or similar).
  • Is interested in gaining experience across design, testing and commissioning phases of projects.
  • Takes a proactive approach to learning and developing technical capability.
  • Communicates clearly and works well within a team environment.
  • Shows curiosity, initiative and a willingness to take on new challenges.
  • Holds Australian working rights and is able to travel as required.

Desirable:

  • Experience in mining, energy or heavy industrial environments
