The Opportunities
Mipac is recruiting for Control Systems Engineers across multiple experience levels — Mid‑level, Senior and Lead, to support a strong and growing pipeline of mineral processing automation projects in Australia and internationally.
These roles are open to engineers with different depths of experience and strengths across design, configuration, commissioning and technical leadership. All roles will require a genuine willingness to travel as part of project delivery.
These are not FIFO roles, but it will require national and international travel, including extended site assignments (up to ~6 weeks at a time) during FATs, commissioning and critical delivery phases.
These roles suits engineers who value challenge, variety and accountability over predictability or minimal site exposure.

Mipac works predominately in mineral processing and mining, delivering control systems for greenfield plants, operating sites and plant upgrades worldwide.
Engineers work across a range of PLC, SCADA and DCS platforms, including Rockwell, Siemens, Yokogawa, Emerson and others, depending on client needs.
Your level of responsibility and influence will scale to your experience, capability and appetite for leadership.

- Take ownership of technical quality, documentation and operational outcomes.
- Be comfortable working in situations with ambiguity, competing priorities and operational pressure.
- Resolve technical issues while remaining measured, respectful and solutions‑focused.
- See engineering as a professional service, taking responsibility not just for technical correctness but for how solutions land with clients and operators long term.
- Enjoy developing other engineers, sharing your knowledge to improve how they work and the work they produce.
- Apply sound judgement in high‑pressure or ambiguous delivery environments.
About You
We are open to a range of experience levels, but you will bring many of the following:
- Experience delivering industrial control systems in mining, mineral processing, energy or other heavy industrial environments.
- Hands‑on experience with PLC, SCADA or DCS platforms such as Rockwell, Siemens, Yokogawa, Schneider or similar.
- Exposure to site‑based delivery, FATs or commissioning (international experience advantageous).
- Strong technical discipline, documentation skills and attention to quality.
- The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and remain professional under pressure.
- A service‑oriented mindset, taking responsibility not just for technical correctness, but for how solutions perform in operation.
- Genuine willingness and ability to travel nationally and internationally (~30% of your time).
- Australian working rights.
For Senior and Lead levels, you will also demonstrate:
- Deeper technical ownership of scopes or platforms.
- Confidence leading delivery, resolving issues and guiding others.
- An interest in mentoring engineers and influencing how work is done.
RPEQ or CPEng registration, or willingness to pursue registration, is encouraged.
