Senior Back-End Developer

• Ongoing, full-time position based at Mipac’s Brisbane head office

The opportunity

As a senior software engineer, you will focus on our clients’ most complex and ambitious problems. Free of line management responsibilities, you will provide mentorship and guidance to other engineers, leading by example producing succinct, robust and performant code.

• This is a hands on role, so your days will be focused on design and coding activities
• You'll be part of a team of friendly, highly capable developers who are always ready to help
• You'll be working on both Python and .NET Core tech stacks
• Functional programming is a focus for us, so you'll also be working with F# and Fable.
• You'll be applying your knowledge and experience every day to help us deliver robust and correct code.

About You

Ideally, you:

• Have experience building and designing highly scalable, fault tolerant and highly available systems
• Have influenced technical decisions on significant projects/products
• Understand a broad range of complex data structures and complex algorithms
• Are familiar with a range of design patterns, architectural principles and programming paradigms
• Experienced in making pragmatic trade-off decisions between short term needs and long-term needs
• Have experience with both object-oriented and functional programming
• You’re a polyglot programmer
• You’ve had major success during your participation in all aspects of small and large projects and been essential to those projects’ successes
• You are committed to mastery of your craft with your own self-study program
