About the Role

As a Retail Security Officer, you will help create a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for customers, retailers, and visitors. You will be responsible for conducting patrols, responding to incidents, managing security risks, and providing exceptional customer service while maintaining a professional presence across the site.

Positions available: Full-time / Part-time / Casual

Industry Award Level 2 and Level 4 opportunities available across a range of weekday, weekend, day and night shifts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct internal, external, and car park patrols to ensure the safety and security of customers, retailers, staff, property, and assets.
  • Provide a professional, approachable, and customer-focused security presence across the shopping centre.
  • Assist customers, retailers, and centre management while delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, emergencies, security breaches, and requests for assistance.
  • Identify, assess, and report hazards, security risks, and antisocial behavior, taking appropriate action in line with site procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with all site, client, and company security policies and protocols.
  • Complete incident reports and maintain accurate records using electronic reporting systems.
  • Undertake additional leadership and operational responsibilities applicable to Level 4 positions, where relevant.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A current Queensland Security Provider Licence and valid Australian working rights.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Previous security experience, with retail or shopping centre security experience highly regarded.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills, with a professional presentation and sound judgement.
  • The ability to remain calm and respond effectively during incidents and emergencies.
  • Confidence using electronic systems and completing accurate reports and documentation.
  • Good physical fitness and the ability to undertake regular foot patrols.
  • Availability to work a variety of day, night, weekday, and weekend shifts.
  • The ability to work independently, follow procedures, and maintain a strong attention to detail.
  • A reliable, punctual, and team-focused approach to work.

Previous shopping centre or retail security experience will be highly regarded. Applicants interested in Level 4 positions should have relevant senior security experience.
