Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks to ensure the safety, functionality, and cleanliness of commercial and retail facilities. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working independently, and maintaining high standards of building care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on building systems, including lighting, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical.
  • Respond to maintenance requests and service calls in a timely and professional manner.
  • Conduct minor repairs such as patching walls, replacing fixtures, and adjusting doors or locks.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness and safety of mechanical rooms, storage areas, and common spaces.
  • Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs or inspections when needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, materials used, and time spent on tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies at all times.
  • Assist with emergency response procedures, including after-hours support if required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade certification preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in general building maintenance or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders and standing for extended periods.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if travel between sites is required).
