About the Opportunity

Our Origin & Beyond team, based in Almaty, is seeking a Senior Software Developer to play a key role in the ongoing evolution of Micromine’s flagship platform.

Origin & Beyond delivers powerful tools that help mining companies improve performance through advanced modelling, estimation, design, optimisation, and scheduling. This is complex, data-intensive software used by professionals in real-world, high-impact environments.

In this role, you will go beyond pure delivery, contributing to design decisions, improving system performance, and helping shape the technical direction of the product.

Reporting to the Software Development Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• Translating complex business and functional requirements into robust technical solutions
• Designing and developing high-performance algorithms and data-processing pipelines
• Writing clean, maintainable, production-quality code (primarily in C++)
• Contributing to software architecture, code quality standards, and best practices
• Developing software that is scalable, localisable, and user-focused
• Supporting customers and internal stakeholders when deep technical expertise is required
• Mentoring junior developers and positively influencing team capability

About You

This role will suit an experienced developer who enjoys tackling complex problems and wants to see their work used globally.

You’ll bring:

• Strong commercial experience as a Software Developer
• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Solid professional experience with C++ (or related C language)
• Professional proficiency in spoken and written English
• Kazakhstan citizenship
• Comfortable with an in-office Almaty role (fully remote, not supported)
