About The Opportunity

Our AMEE team (Africa, Middle East & Europe), are currently seeking a Product Specialist, Mining. Based out of our Johannesburg office, you will play a key support role for customers of our intuitive open-pit mine planning solution, Micromine Alastri. In this role you will provide technical support, pre-sales assistance, and client training for our clients.

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, AMEE, your key responsibilities will include:

• Developing and maintaining long-term customer relationships.
• Providing telephone, email, and face-to-face support for license holders.
• Conducting training with customers, as well as new in-house staff, including a mix of in-person and online sessions.
• Ensuring enhancement requests, bugs, and development issues are raised and resolved.
• BETA testing new versions and products, providing feedback, and assessing impacts on support procedures and documentation.
• Helping the Sales team with technical support during pre-sales demonstrations, trade shows, and other events.

About You

You will have a background within operational mining roles, or alternatively, you will have experience working for a mining technology company.

Other key skills, experience, and qualifications:

• A tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering.
• Experience with Open Pit mining preferable
• An understanding of/experience with mining concepts such as mine planning and scheduling.
• Expertise with using general purpose mining software.
• The ability to travel, nationally or internationally, to manage Micromine Alastri implementations (estimated 35-40% of the year)
