About The Opportunity

Micromine is expanding, and we’re looking for an Automation Tester to join our Micromine Spry product team in Brisbane. Micromine Spry is a mine scheduling and haulage planning software solution used by mining engineers to create production schedules, model material movement, and plan short- to long-term operations.

In this role, you will take a leading role in building and advancing automated UI testing capability across the product. Rather than working as one of many automation contributors, you will help drive the direction, quality, and effectiveness of automation within the team.

Working closely with developers, product managers, and other testers, you will design, implement, and maintain automated tests that increase coverage, confidence, and release velocity.

• Translate functional requirements and user stories into automated test scenarios
• Design, build, and maintain robust automated UI tests across the application
• Develop scalable regression suites that support frequent, reliable releases
• Act as a key driver of automation practices within the team
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented test code
• Execute, monitor, and analyse automated test runs, investigating failures as needed
• Collaborate with developers to improve testability and integrate automation into the delivery lifecycle
• Continuously identify opportunities to expand automation coverage and effectiveness

About You

You are an experienced automation tester who enjoys ownership and influence. You have a track record of driving UI automation forward, not just contributing scripts, but shaping frameworks, approaches, and outcomes.

Key skills and experience:

• Strong experience in software testing with a clear focus on UI test automation
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining automated test frameworks or suites
• Experience acting as a primary contributor or owner of automation initiatives
• Familiarity with modern automation tools (e.g. TestComplete, Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar)
• Solid understanding of software development concepts and CI/CD practices
• Ability to design maintainable, scalable automated tests
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
