About The Opportunity

Micromine is expanding, and we’re looking for an Automation Tester to join our Micromine Spry product team in Brisbane. Micromine Spry is a mine scheduling and haulage planning software solution used by mining engineers to create production schedules, model material movement, and plan short- to long-term operations

In this role you will focus on test automation for our desktop applications, using TestComplete to increase coverage, reliability, and speed of testing. Working closely with developers and other testers, you will help grow our automation framework so that more of our regression and functional testing is executed automatically.

• Translate functional requirements and user stories into automated test scenarios and scripts.
• Develop efficient, reliable, and maintainable automated tests for desktop applications, using TestComplete.
• Implement and maintain robust regression test suites that support frequent releases with confidence.
• Write clean, well-structured, and well-documented test code and test cases.
• Execute, monitor, and analyse automated test runs, investigating failures and assisting with defect diagnosis.
• Collaborate with developers and other stakeholders to improve testability, refine test coverage, and continuously enhance our automation practices.

About You

You will have a proven background in automation testing within a desktop environment.

Key skills and experience:

• Strong experience in software testing, with a clear focus on test automation.
• Hands-on experience with automation tools for desktop applications, ideally TestComplete.
• Background in building, maintaining, and expanding automated test suites (rather than purely manual testing).
• Solid understanding of software development concepts and how automation fits into the overall delivery lifecycle.
• Strong communication skills.
