About The Opportunity

As the Technical Specialist, based at our Bryanston office in Johannesburg, you will play a vital support role for customers of our exploration solution, Micromine Origin. Being at the forefront of client interactions, your work will solidify customer relationships by ensuring they are fully trained to derive maximum value from the product.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing face-to-face, phone, and email support for license holders.
  • Delivering training courses for clients as needed (face-to-face and online).
  • Ensuring enhancement requests, bugs, and development issues are raised and resolved.
  • Providing technical and presales support for Micromine’s global network of personnel and partners.
  • BETA testing new products and versions, providing feedback on new features, and assessing impacts on support procedures and documentation.

About You

You will have a background in operational mining or geology positions, including hands-on experience with using mining software packages.

Other key skills, experience, and qualifications:

  • The ability to read and write in French is mandatory.
  • A tertiary qualification in the earth sciences or mining engineering.
  • Whilst not essential, previous experience with providing training (formal or informal) would be useful.
