We currently have an exciting new opportunity for a seasoned and motivated Programmer to join our M3R team.

The Programmer will lead programming and planning on M3R, and will be the key person in the APAM M3R Team who has ownership of the Master Program. Reporting to the Head of Commercial, the role is significantly commercially focussed, but will integrate across the whole of the project team in terms of delivery.

The Programmer will own the Master Schedule on behalf of the team, which is the APAM overarching program outlining all delivery and project requirements for the Third Runway, Early Works, other works, completion phases and other APAM areas of operation in the delivery of M3R.

This role is focussed on receiving, assessing, analysing and monitoring of the Contractor’s program. This will involve comprehensive monthly analysis and internal reporting; and review and reporting around changes, time variance, delays, logic changes or resourcing profile.

As Programming and Planning Lead, there will be an important input into the governance areas of the project; specifically in terms of reporting and progress monitoring; also in terms of risk assessment and analysis, and contractor claims or delay mitigation.

Explore how we are thinking big with exciting projects like the Third Runway, state-of-the-art terminals, and thriving business park developments. Key responsibilities:

The role's duties and accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Master Schedule maintenance – ensuring it is up to date and accounts for progress, contractor’s submissions, APAM needs and all features required for management of time related matters
  • Monthly Report – provide all inputs into the monthly reporting cycle, working with other members of the Commercial Team and liaising across the D&C teams
  • Contractor’s Monthly Program Submission analysis – prepare a detailed internal review as the Contractor’s monthly submissions are received, including contractual compliance, variance analysis, change review, production and progress review and reporting on any other material issues
  • EOT, delay and variation analysis – providing all programming and analysis where the contractor claims to have experienced delay; especially if an extension of time is being sought
  • Progress and productivity analysis – keep ongoing analysis of the various forms of data provided by the Contractor in terms of overall progress as well as productivity metrics, and calibrate against program reports and forecasts
  • Scenario and look ahead analysis – Where required, provide programming analysis and advice to the M3R team on potential options, changes, scenarios and other approaches that might vary from the Master Schedule.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience in large infrastructure projects, and at least 10+ years of relevant work in the role of planning or programming
  • Past roles that have involved contract program development and analysis, and an understanding of the general processes of D&C Construction Contracts. This includes a general understanding and hands on experience in how to assess, analyse and report on a contractors program.
  • Understanding and past experience in managing critical path analysis, dealing with delays and extensions of time, and schedule risk analysis processes.
  • Strong understanding and ability to use Primavera Systems software (P6, cloud based), and strong technical programming skills.
  • A preference for someone who has delivery experience in large earthworks projects, and an understanding of the production methods and approaches in these type of projects.

We understand that not everyone will feel they meet all of these 100%. However, if you feel you have the attitude and aptitude to grow within our team, we invite you to apply and have a conversation with us about this position.
