Melbourne Airport is seeking a visionary and experienced M3R Delivery Director to take the reins of our landmark Third Runway (M3R) Program. This role will see you lead the end-to-end development and delivery of this nationally significant infrastructure, ensuring exceptional outcomes in design, procurement, cost, and project execution.

Key responsibilities:
As M3R Delivery Director, you’ll oversee the strategic and operational leadership of the M3R Program—ensuring it is accurately planned, commercially sound, and delivered safely, on time, and to a high standard.
Your key areas of focus will include:
Capital Planning & Design Management
- Set and manage the endorsed capital plan for the M3R
- Lead robust briefing and design processes with a customer-first mindset
- Champion innovation, including off-site manufacture and sustainability in design
Procurement & Cost Control
- Develop and drive fit-for-purpose procurement strategies with smart risk allocation
- Lead rigorous cost control across all project phases
- Ensure all expenditure aligns with APAM’s benchmarks and funding frameworks
Program Delivery Leadership
- Lead internal teams and external consultants to safely deliver program milestones
- Ensure the highest standards in safety, delivery, and quality across all workstreams
- Build strong engagement across the business and with key external stakeholders
Stakeholder Management & Governance
- Represent the program with executive stakeholders and governance forums
- Provide clear, concise reporting and decision-making input for boards and committees
- Foster collaboration, resolve issues early, and lead with influence
The successful candidate will have:
You are a proven infrastructure leader with deep delivery experience, strong commercial judgement, and a passion for executing complex programs within dynamic operating environments.
- Extensive experience delivering capital programs in 24/7 operational environments (airfield delivery essential)
- Demonstrated success leading large, multi-stream programs from design through to completion
- Advanced stakeholder engagement, governance and reporting experience
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Strong commercial acumen and financial management capability
- Degree in Construction, Engineering, or a related field
- Extensive experience managing end-to-end capital delivery in the built environment
- Deep expertise in airfield or similarly regulated infrastructure projects
