2027 Graduate Nurse Program is now open for applications.

These positions are open to Registered Nurse graduates who were previously eligible for the PMCV 2026 (for 2027) graduate match and were unsuccessful in matching with a health service.


Permanent Part-Time - 48 - 64 hours per fortnight


Our Graduate Program provides an opportunity for newly registered nurses to make the transition to professional practice within the Central Goldfields and Pyrenees regions, only a short 50-minute drive from the Regional Cities Ballarat & Bendigo, and 2 hours from Melbourne.

Our Graduate Program is a 12-month structured and supported program that consists of 6-month clinical area rotations -

  • Aged Care; Dunolly, Avoca and Maryborough Campuses
  • Inpatient Unit
  • Urgent Care Centre
  • Perioperative Services
  • District Nursing

As part of the MDHS graduate program, graduate nurses will be supported to consolidate clinically and develop professionally through -

  • Comprehensive Induction and Orientation to Maryborough District Health Service and Clinical Areas.
  • Clinical support, mentorship and organisational education opportunities;
  • Supernumerary and orientation time are provided within the program structure, as is Annual Leave per the EBA
  • Paid study days spread throughout the program with additional study days offered
  • Regular debriefing and rounding opportunities;
  • Access to a variety of interactive E-Learning programs including targeted online CPD topics to assist your development.

Following the successful completion of the 12-month program graduates are welcomed to apply for available positions through Maryborough District Health Service.
