Are you a passionate OHS professional who thrives on making a real difference in people's working lives? Do you want to be part of a values-driven organisation where safety is a priority? If so, we'd love to hear from you!

We're looking for a dynamic and experienced OHS Business Partner to join our team at MDHS. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a high-impact role where you'll partner with leaders, champion a proactive safety culture, and help shape the health and wellbeing of our workforce.

Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Providing high-level consultancy services to managers and employees on OHS and RTW matters
  • Partnering with leaders to proactively identify, assess, mitigate, and manage workplace health and safety risks before they become problems
  • Promoting a proactive safety culture that's genuinely aligned with MDHS values and strategic goals
  • Leading the OHS Committee to ensure issues are addressed effectively and the committee is firing on all cylinders
  • Ensuring compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 (Vic), Regulations, and all other relevant legislation
  • Maintaining and monitoring OHS policies, procedures, and management systems to keep everything current and effective
  • Supporting incident investigations — including thorough root cause analysis and ensuring corrective actions are implemented and reviewed
  • Conducting and assisting with risk assessments, workplace inspections, and audits
  • Coordinating and delivering engaging OHS-related training and awareness programs
  • Building capability in leaders so they can confidently and proactively manage OHS risks within their own teams
  • Taking a strategic approach to injury management by championing early intervention and smooth, safe return-to-work processes
  • Preparing regular OHS performance reports, dashboards, and compliance updates for leadership and the Board

You will bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety, Human Resources, or a related field — or demonstrated significant experience in roles of similar complexity
  • Proven experience in a similar OHS advisory or partnering role, ideally within the healthcare or public sector
  • Solid hands-on experience in workers' compensation and injury management, including navigating complex matters with confidence
  • Sound knowledge of OHS legislation, standards, and compliance frameworks
  • Practical experience in incident investigation, risk assessment, and safety management systems

This is more than just a job — it's a chance to genuinely influence the safety and wellbeing of an entire organisation. If you're ready to bring your expertise, energy, and passion to a role where your work truly matters, apply today.
