Deputy Director of Nursing, Workforce, Access and Flow

Permanent Full Time, 80 hours per fortnight

We are seeking a dynamic Deputy Director of Nursing to join our leadership team at Maryborough District Health Service. You will play a key role in managing our nursing and midwifery workforce, developing innovative models of care, and ensuring safe, high-quality care for our patients.

In this position you will:

• Proactively manage our casual nursing and midwifery staff
• Create new models of care to ensure staff satisfaction and safe clinical practice
• Review and improve patient access, transfers, discharges, and flow across the organisation
• Align processes with best evidence, our strategic plan, and organisational values

We are looking for someone who:

• Is a registered nurse with AHPRA registration
• Holds advanced life support certification
• Has exceptional knowledge in nursing management, clinical governance, risk management, evidence-based practice, and more
• Is solutions-oriented with strong analytical and reporting skills
• Excels at communication, negotiation, and resolving conflict
• Can develop strong relationships with staff and stakeholders

It would be great if you also have:

• Prior experience as a Nurse Unit Manager or higher
