Are you an experienced Registered Nurse ready to lead and support hospital operations outside of regular hours? Mansfield District Hospital (MDH) is seeking a dedicated After-Hours Hospital Coordinator to provide leadership, clinical oversight, and operational support across the organisation after hours.

About the Role

In this pivotal role, you’ll be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the safe, efficient, and effective delivery of healthcare services during evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays. You’ll provide expert clinical guidance, ensure high standards of care, and act as the senior point of contact for staff, patients, and families during after-hours periods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical and operational leadership across all departments after hours
  • Support staff and oversee delivery of safe, high-quality care
  • Respond to and manage emergency and critical incidents
  • Ensure smooth coordination of patient flow and effective resource use
  • Act as an escalation point for staff and liaise with external services when required
  • Promote and model the values of Mansfield District Hospital

About You

You’re a confident and compassionate leader with broad clinical experience and a passion for supporting staff and patients alike. You thrive in autonomous roles and are skilled at making timely, informed decisions under pressure.

Essential:

  • Registered Nurse (Division 1) with current AHPRA registration
  • Minimum five (5) years' experience in advanced clinical practice
  • Demonstrated leadership and decision-making abilities
  • Strong knowledge of acute care and aged care environments
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage resources effectively and adapt in a changing environment
  • Competence in using clinical information and performance systems

Desirable:

  • Tertiary qualifications in management or currently undertaking study
  • Membership of a relevant professional body
  • Familiarity with current trends and research in aged care
