About the Role

As a Gardener / Handyperson, you will be an integral member of our Maintenance team, responsible for ensuring the hospital grounds are well maintained, visually appealing and safe. Your work will directly contribute to the overall experience of everyone who visits our service.

This is a part-time opportunity (24 hours per week across 3 days), offering flexibility and the chance to work within a supportive and values-driven organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain lawns and gardens including mowing, watering, weeding, pruning and planting
  • Ensure all outdoor spaces are clean, tidy and well presented
  • Clear drains and keep paved areas free from debris
  • Assist with waste management and recycling processes
  • Support the maintenance team with general and preventative maintenance tasks
  • Maintain records of garden maintenance activities

About You

You are someone who:

  • Has experience in garden maintenance or a similar role
  • Works well both independently and as part of a team
  • Is reliable, punctual and takes pride in your work
  • Has strong communication skills
  • Is committed to workplace safety and quality standards
  • Demonstrates alignment with our organisational values

Essential Requirements

  • Previous gardening or grounds maintenance experience
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Evidence of required vaccinations (including flu)
  • Ability to meet compliance requirements, including a police check

Desirable

  • Trade or handyman experience
