About the role:
At Mansfield District Hospital our Food Services Assistant works as part of a team in the Food Service Department assisting with many of the activities involved with food distribution and food storage to ensure patients and residents receive high quality meals and feeds in a timely and accurate manner. The position involves being cross-trained across a variety of roles within food services including assisting with patient meal set-up, delivering patient meals to the bedside, collecting patient meal trays and dish-washing, and may also include duties in the central formula room including bottle washing and preparation of infant formula/enteral feeds.

Key Selection Criteria:
- Must be able to work all shifts, weekly, afternoon and weekends including public holidays
- Computer skills at a basic level;
- Understanding of confidentiality;
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisation skills;
- Ability to work with a wide variety of people;
- Self-motivated with a high level of communication and organisational skills demonstrated ability to work alone.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in cleaning, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of infection control practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of proper handling and disposal of biohazardous materials.
Skills and Abilities:
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting and moving equipment.
