About the Role
Mansfield District Hospital is seeking a motivated and reliable Cook to join our Food Services team. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering nutritious, high-quality meals to patients, residents, staff, and visitors.
Working in a well-equipped kitchen and alongside a supportive, experienced team, you’ll help ensure meals are prepared and delivered safely, on time, and in line with dietary requirements. Your contribution will directly support patient recovery, resident wellbeing, and the overall care experience within our health service.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present meals in accordance with menu plans, dietary guidelines, and individual care requirements
- Ensure all food preparation and service complies with food safety, hygiene, and infection control standards
- Assist with menu planning, portion control, and stock rotation
- Support ordering, stock control, and minimisation of food waste
- Work collaboratively with kitchen and ward staff to ensure timely and efficient meal service
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment
- Contribute to continuous improvement within food services
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring a positive attitude and a commitment to quality food service. You will ideally have:
- Previous experience as a Cook in a healthcare, aged care, hospitality, or similar environment (preferred)
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification (desirable)
- Sound knowledge of food safety standards, allergens, and special dietary requirements
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work efficiently in a busy environment
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- A flexible, reliable approach and willingness to support service needs
