Mansfield District Hospital (MDH) is seeking an experienced and passionate nurse leader to join our team as the Education Manager – Clinical Nurse Consultant. This senior role is integral to shaping the capability, confidence and clinical excellence of our workforce, ensuring the delivery of Great Care – consistently and every time.

About the Role

As the Education Manager, you will provide strategic, operational and clinical leadership across all learning and development functions. You will coordinate and deliver high-quality education programs, support professional growth, and foster a culture of safety, collaboration and continuous improvement.

You will lead the Education Team, manage departmental resources, and work closely with clinical leaders to ensure excellence in practice, while also maintaining your own clinical skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, model and champion MDH’s values and Great Care philosophy

• Provide strong clinical, operational and educational leadership

• Develop and deliver an annual education calendar that meets organisational needs

• Support students, trainees, graduates and all staff with high-quality education and supervision

• Ensure compliance with mandatory training and maintain facility-wide education records

• Contribute to organisational quality and safety initiatives, including BPCLE reporting

• Build strong relationships with external education providers and partners

• Manage departmental budgets and resources efficiently

• Support policy development, work instructions and accreditation requirements

About You

Essential:

• Registered Nurse and/or Midwife with current AHPRA registration

• Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (minimum)

• Demonstrated experience in workplace education

• Strong leadership capability and experience building high-functioning teams

• Excellent communication, problem-solving and facilitation skills

• Sound computer and administrative skills

• Commitment to MDH values, including respect, teamwork and empowerment

• Evidence of required flu vaccinations

Desirable:

• Previous experience in a clinical educator or similar educational role

• Tertiary qualifications in education (or working towards)

• COVID-19 vaccination (highly recommended)
