This is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a supportive rural health service known for delivering Great Care to our community.

About Mansfield & Our Health Service

Ready for a role that offers professional growth and an incredible lifestyle?

Join Mansfield District Hospital, located at the gateway to Victoria’s spectacular High Country—home to Mt Buller, Lake Eildon, pristine rivers, world-class mountain biking, snow sports, hiking, gourmet local produce and a warm, tight-knit community. Whether you love outdoor adventure, breathtaking scenery or relaxed country living, Mansfield has something for you every single day of the year.

We are a progressive, innovative health service committed to delivering safe, reliable and responsive care to our community. As our Urgent Care Clinical Nurse Consultant, you will step into a leadership role that truly makes an impact—supporting clinical excellence while shaping the future of our growing Urgent Care service.

Why You’ll Love This Role

As a key leader within our UCC, you’ll bring your advanced clinical expertise and passion for high-quality, evidence-based care to a dynamic environment where no two days are the same. You’ll split your time between hands-on clinical practice and dedicated administrative/leadership days—giving you the perfect balance of frontline action and strategic influence.

You’ll be empowered to drive service improvement, mentor the next generation of clinicians, and ensure our patients receive safe, timely, person-centred care.

What You’ll Be Doing

In this exciting senior role, you will:

  • Champion and model MDH’s commitment to Great Care.
  • Provide expert clinical, operational, and logistical leadership within the UCC.
  • Foster a calm, kind and solution-focused team culture—even in high-pressure moments.
  • Act as an educational resource and role model, promoting innovation, excellence and safety.
  • Oversee patient flow, clinical governance, and adherence to best-practice guidelines.
  • Lead clinical audits, incident reviews and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Support staff development through coaching, teaching, and competency assessments.
  • Deliver orientation and induction programs for new UCC team members.
  • Maintain collaborative, positive relationships with Doctors, Allied Health, Ambulance Victoria, ARV, Community Health, and the wider acute care team.
  • Contribute to policy development, accreditation readiness and administrative systems.
  • Engage with patients, families, and the community with professionalism and warmth.
  • Maintain and continually develop your own clinical skills.

What You Bring

Essential:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • Post-Graduate qualification (or working towards) in Emergency Nursing or Acute Care.
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to create a cohesive, supportive team culture.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong computer literacy and documentation skills.
  • Commitment to MDH values and person-centred, culturally safe, trauma-informed care.
  • Experience with Quality Improvement, data analysis and Clinical Governance.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Required flu vaccinations.

Desirable:

  • Experience as a preceptor, clinical educator or similar teaching role.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
