About the Role
As Senior Commercial Manager, you will report directly to the Head of Construction and play a pivotal role in shaping our business strategy. You'll be the bridge between deep commercial and contractual understanding and practical business outcomes - empowering our leadership team with insights, risks, trends, and forward-thinking scenario modelling.
While construction experience is welcome, it's not essential. What matters most is a strong commercial and contractual mindset, a values-driven and care based approach, and the ability to lead with influence, detail, and purpose.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead commercial strategy and oversight across the construction portfolio.
- Provide critical data-driven insights, trend analysis, and "what-if" modelling to inform leadership decisions and long-term strategy.
- Identify and elevate margin risks, cost trends, and contractual issues - offering actionable recommendations.
- Drive commercial discipline and financial performance through close partnership with Operations Leaders and Commercial Managers.
- Surface and mitigate legal and contractual risks on live projects before they escalate.
- Implement productivity measures that increase efficiency, reduce waste, and support project success.
- Shape tools, systems, and processes that are intuitive and insightful - not complex.
- Champion a performance-driven culture that understands how value is created and money moves through the business.
- Maintain close, trusted relationships across teams - because while we value insight and strategy, our people and partnerships are at the heart of everything we do.
- Use commercial understanding to identify surface areas of opportunity across the business, and connect construction leaders to these areas of opportunity.
