About the role
We are seeking a Contract Administrator to join our Supplyhaus Joinery team as we expand and grow. This role will work closely with our Project Manager’s to ensure effective administration of all areas of the project, including contracts, financials, productivity, safety, quality and programme performance for optimal commercial outcomes.
This is a great opportunity to play a key role in our growing business while coordinating joinery projects from inception to completion.
This role will see you undertake the following responsibilities:
- Review the project contract, identify commercial risks, advise on mitigation strategies, and raise any discrepancies early for escalation as needed.
- Ensure accurate contract documentation and maintain proper record-keeping and control.
- Monitor and manage project costs, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of financial position.
- Prepare financial forecasts, cost reports, and provide proactive advice on risks and opportunities.
- Assist the Project Manager with budget control, cashflow reporting, invoicing, and payment schedules.
- Prepare, issue, and manage subcontractor packages, including detailed scopes of work and agreements.
- Lead procurement for materials and trades, including evaluating quotes, managing orders, and supplier relations.
- Track and manage project costs in Jobpac, including budgets, commitments, and payments.
- Handle RFIs and variations, assess entitlement, prepare documentation, and secure approvals.
- Review subcontractor safety documentation to ensure compliance with project HSEQ requirements.
- Provide project delivery support, assisting with planning, logistics, coordination, and scheduling.
- Foster positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers, resolving issues.
- Ensure compliance with contracts, legislation, and McNab/Supplyhaus systems and processes.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost savings, and efficiency in joinery delivery.
About you
We are seeking someone who is eager to learn and thrive in a fast-paced environment while having fun and contributing to team morale. In addition, we are seeking the following:
- Previous experience as a Contract Administrator role within construction, building products or similar.
- Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or similar (or working towards) would be advantageous
- Sound understanding of building legislation, e.g. the payments act (BIFSOPA Act)
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail with the ability to prioritise various tasks across multiple projects
- Effective communication and relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Previous experience using Jobpac and Procore would be well regarded
- Eager to learn, contribute to the team, and grow your career in a fast-paced environment
