We are seeking to connect with a driven and relationship focussed Commercial Manager, with a strong background in the commercial construction industry. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on a wide range of projects with one of Australia's advancing and innovative Construction, Development, and Property groups.

You’ll be working closely with project teams and leaders, clients, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure smooth, mutually beneficial, and fair commercial management of our construction projects. Whilst you will know the numbers and think contractually, more importantly you will know people and fostering positive outcomes with others.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive ongoing optimisation of commercial practices to improve efficiency and business outcomes.
• Lead and mentor a high-performing team of Contract Administrators and Cadets, fostering growth and excellence.
• Oversee all commercial activities across diverse projects, aligning contractual strategies to maximise financial performance.
• Identify and implement strategies to manage contractual risk and entitlements to protect and enhance project outcomes.
• Drives a high level of project administration, ensuring accurate financial reporting, timely processing of claims and payments, and proactive stakeholder communication across the portfolio.
• Leads collaboration and strategic procurement, influencing best-case outcomes whilst ensuring timely trade package procurement.
• Provides valuable insights through data analysis to support future decisions.

About you 

• Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or related field. 
• Proven experience in a similar role, working for a commercial builder (head contractor) on complex projects.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with a demonstrated track record of effectively managing site-based teams, subcontractors, and client relationships.
• Proven capability to address complex commercial situations and deliver risk mitigation strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Influence and build commercially beneficial relationships with all internal and external stakeholders with a collaborative approach.
• A proactive problem-solver who negotiates and makes sound decisions in a timely manner under pressure.
