High-Impact, operationally focused role. You’re more than support; you’re strategy in action.

About the Role:

This is not your typical EA role.

McNab has a rare opportunity for a high-calibre Executive Assistant to join our team on a full time, permanent basis. This role goes far beyond traditional EA responsibilities – we're looking for someone who will act as a genuine operational partner and trusted extension of the Executives you support.

Working closely with Senior Executives and the broader executive team, you will sit at the centre of how they operate: helping to bring structure to complexity, driving clarity through fast-moving priorities, and ensuring their time and energy stay focused on the strategic outcomes that matter most. Your impact will be felt across the business as you proactively shape information, anticipate needs and create momentum on key initiatives.

This isn’t an EA role built around task lists, inboxes and calendars. This is an opportunity for someone who understands business operations, thrives in a dynamic environment, and is energised by being in the detail of what truly moves the needle. You will embed yourself deeply enough in projects, relationships and conversations that, when needed, you can confidently lead a discussion, keep decisions progressing and act as the continuity for your Executives.

At McNab, we value people who genuinely care, make it easy for others, and bring certainty in their approach. You’ll operate with those values in every interaction: building strong internal relationships, supporting your Executives with calm professionalism, and being that steady, commercially aware presence who helps bring our collective goals to life.

If you’re looking for an environment where your thinking, insight and operational intuition make a real difference every day, you’ll find it here.

Key Responsibilities:

Instead of listing admin-first tasks, we’ve highlighted areas and what matters for success in this role:

Strategic & Operational Partnership

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of executive priorities, pressures and business goals to provide meaningful strategic partnership.
  • Work alongside Executives on major initiatives, contributing insight, structure and forward planning.
  • Create clarity in fast-paced, ambiguous situations by bringing together the right information, people and decisions.

Leadership & Meeting Influence

  • Prepare Executives with sharp, concise briefings that simplify complex issues and drive informed decision-making.
  • Keep a strong pulse on emerging issues, risks and opportunities, ensuring nothing slips through the cracks.
  • Confidently lead or step into meetings when Executives are unavailable, ensuring accuracy, alignment and continued progress.

Business Rhythm & Execution

  • Coordinate and reinforce the cadence of the Executive team, ensuring follow-through on key outcomes and strategic priorities.
  • Bring structure, order and momentum to high-volume workstreams.
  • Stay ahead of competing demands, applying commercial judgment to help guide where attention is best focused.

Relationship & Communication Leadership

  • Build strong, trusted relationships at all levels of the business through proactive support, curiosity and professionalism.
  • Be comfortable supporting different or multiple Executives as the business evolves, ensuring each receives the same high level of partnership, clarity and follow-through.
  • Act as a central connector across teams, providing clarity and consistency in communication.
  • Represent your Executives with confidence, discretion and care.

Including the essentials

  • Standard EA activities such as diary and travel coordination, completed with the efficiency and consideration expected at this level.

About You

Your passion for business, appetite for variety and ability to think several steps ahead will set you up for success. You’ll thrive in this role if you:

  • You’re intellectually sharp, commercially curious and quick to understand how pieces of the McNab Group fit together.
  • Have solid experience supporting Executives in a fast-paced environment and enjoy being across the breadth of what they manage.
  • Bring a strong operational mindset. You think like an operator, not an administrator, and you enjoy understanding the “why” behind decisions.
  • Have strategic awareness paired with practical execution. You can see the big picture while keeping hold of the details that matter.
  • Are naturally proactive, curious and commercially minded, always scanning for what’s needed before it’s asked.
  • Build rapport with ease, forming strong relationships with Executives, teams and external stakeholders alike.
  • Have experience supporting leaders who travel or operate remotely, ensuring communication and coordination stay seamless.
  • Possess strong professional maturity with the confidence to influence and contribute to discussions, not just observe them.
  • Thrive in environments that move quickly, where priorities shift and where thinking outside the box is strongly encouraged.
  • Understand the importance of discretion and confidentiality, along with championing streamlined ways of working.
  • Hold relevant experience or qualifications in business operations, project management or similar (highly regarded but not essential).
