HSE Business Partner

About the role

At McNab our HSE Business Partners partner with the Construction and Department Managers to ensure McNab’s “Safety First” culture and leadership standards are implemented and take full responsibility to drive Safety for the Business.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead by example on-site, ensuring all team members connect with and commit to safety on a personal level.
• Partner with project teams to implement strategies that encourage safe behaviours among subcontractors and workers.
• Take ownership of your own technical and leadership development in safety.
• Support and mentor HSE Advisors, identifying skills gaps and providing guidance to strengthen the team.
• Collaborate with fellow HSE Business Partners and the wider McNab group to share insights, risks, and best practices.
• Promote a solutions-focused culture, learning from both positive outcomes and challenges.
• Build strong relationships with subcontractors, setting clear expectations and holding them accountable for safety standards.
• Anticipate and address potential risks early through proactive site engagement, planning, and collaboration with Project and Site Managers.

About You

As the HSE Business Partner you are genuinely passionate about safety, you believe and connect with safety and lead through example.

You will have:

• Proven experience managing HSE across multiple commercial projects while mentoring and supporting on-site HSE Advisors.
• Your HSE career has progressed from working as an on-site HSE Advisor to managing safety across the full project lifecycle, from commencement through to delivery.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• The willingness to be routinely visible on site.
• Team oriented - supporting and working with your team.
• A proven track record influencing a diverse group of people.
• In addition to the above you must have a minimum qualification of a Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety or similar.
