Whether you’re currently completing your carpentry apprenticeship or looking to continue it with a new employer, McNab has an exciting opportunity for a 2nd, 3rd or 4th Year Carpentry Apprentice to join our Toowoomba-based team.

You’ll gain hands-on experience across a variety of commercial, industrial, and residential projects throughout Toowoomba and the surrounding South East Queensland region, working alongside experienced tradespeople who are committed to quality, safety, and teamwork.

At McNab, we believe in building careers — not just projects. Many of our senior leaders started on the tools as apprentices and progressed into Foreman, Site Manager, Project Manager, and Construction Manager roles. If you’re motivated and eager to grow, we’ll support you every step of the way. 

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Assisting and learning from qualified carpenters across all aspects of carpentry
  • Steel and timber framing
  • Formwork and concreting for slabs, footings, and walls
  • Installation of cladding, flooring, and structural elements
  • Commercial and residential fit outs
  • Maintenance and defect work
  • Learn to read and interpret plans and drawings
  • Operate tools and equipment safely
  • Follow all site safety procedures
  • Work effectively in a team and adapt to changing site environments

What We’re Looking For:

  • Currently a 2nd, 3rd or 4th Year Carpentry Apprentice
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
  • Pride in delivering high-quality workmanship
  • Safety-focused with strong attention to detail
  • Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
  • Committed to completing your trade qualification
  • Construction White Card
  • Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport (travel within the region SEQ required)
  • Good communication skills and a positive attitude

  • Health & Fitness Subsidy: $250 per year (toward gym, activewear, saunas, fishing gear, etc.)
  • Birthday Leave: 1 paid day off in addition to 4 weeks’ annual leave and 10 days’ sick leave
  • Banked Hours: Any hours worked beyond 38 in a week may be banked to take as paid leave or paid out later
  • Paid Travel Time: For work on sites more than 40km from your base McNab office
