About the role:
In this new role, we’re seeking a strategic and forward-thinking leader to head our Change and Business Improvement team, driving cross-functional collaboration and business unit alignment for the McNab Group. Reporting to the COO, you will be accountable for delivering enterprise-wide change initiatives and embedding an internal change capability mindset.
You’ll lead transformational programs including M&A integration, system and solution implementations, and enterprise operational improvement, applying both Agile and traditional methodologies. Adaptability is key - tailoring delivery to suit the context and nature of change while maintaining a strong focus on building trust and influence across all levels of the business. We’re after a leader who brings calm to complexity, balances strategic clarity with systems thinking, and builds trust through influence.
Key responsibilities:
- Partner with the COO to drive change strategy, planning and execution across the McNab Group
- Lead change and transformation initiatives, including M&A, ERP/HRIS implementation and process improvements
- Establish an Enterprise Change Community of Practice, building the structure, mobilising participation, and driving shared learning, thought leadership, coaching, and best practices across the organisation.
- Cultivate trust and influence across the organisation. Empower leaders through coaching and enable change agility by managing resistance and aligning stakeholder interests.
- Use data-led diagnostics, scenario planning, and hybrid delivery approaches to drive agility, efficiency, and risk-informed decision-making in complex environments.
- Translate strategic goals into practical, people-centred solutions that uplift capability and drive outcomes
- Embed a structured, scalable approach to change governance, tools and delivery practices
- Lead adoption strategies, benefit tracking and capability uplift across teams
- Engage stakeholders at all levels to drive alignment, manage resistance and support behavioural change
- Champion a culture of innovation, inclusion and continuous improvement
What we’re looking for:
This role requires strength in strategic influence, systems thinking and change leadership navigating complexity with clarity, and engaging confidently across all internal and external stakeholders at all levels and geographies
- Proven expertise in leading enterprise-level change and business improvement across complex, fast-paced environments – for example experience in digital transformation, ERP/HRIS rollouts, and/or M&A initiatives.
- Strong executive coaching and stakeholder engagement skills, with a track record of driving cultural alignment and embedding sustainable change practices.
- Strong commercial acumen with a track record of measurable ROI, operational efficiencies, and business improvement aligned to strategic goals
- Skilled in adaptive planning, systems thinking and navigating ambiguity
- Comfortable operating across agile, hybrid and traditional delivery models
- Strength in coaching, mentoring and stakeholder engagement at all levels
- Experience in change operating models, continuous improvement (Lean Six Sigma Black Belt preferred), and transformation across sectors such as construction, infrastructure, logistics, and manufacturing.
- Tertiary qualifications are desirable in Change Management, Psychology, HR, Business, or related fields; commitment to professional development and capability uplift across the enterprise.
