Elevate your future with a business that’s going places.
About the Role:
As a Hoist Fitter, you’ll be hands-on maintaining and improving our fleet of construction hoists. You’ll work with motors, gearboxes, and structural components - keeping equipment running safely and reliably, and ensuring machines are serviced, tested, and ready to go back out to site in top condition.
You’ll be part of a small, skilled crew who take pride in quality work, safety, and helping each other out to get the job done. Based at our Yatala workshop, you’ll also support rigging and installation when needed, with opportunities to travel across South East Queensland.
This role suits someone with a mechanical trade background - such as a fitter/turner, plant mechanic, diesel fitter, or maintenance fitter - who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and seeing the results of their work every day.
With our fleet continuing to expand, it’s an exciting time to join the Electrohire team, with real opportunities to grow into lead, training, or specialist technical roles.
What You’ll Do:
- Service, inspect, and repair hoist motors, gearboxes, and related components.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues, completing preventative maintenance to minimise downtime.
- Support rigging and installation teams on-site when required (training provided).
- Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and attention to detail in all work.
- Keep accurate maintenance records and contribute to continuous improvement in workshop systems.
What We’re Looking For:
- Trade qualification as a Fitter, Turner, or Mechanical Fitter (preferred).
- Candidates from automotive, hydraulic, or heavy machinery backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
- Experience in mechanical maintenance, servicing, or equipment assembly.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Team player with good communication skills and a proactive, can-do attitude.
In return:
- Permanent position with security and stability
- Opportunity for career progression within the Electrohire’s leadership team and wider Mcnab business.
- A collaborative and supportive team culture focused on personal growth and fostering a psychologically safe workplace.
- A competitive hourly rate with opportunity for overtime, RDO's, and flexible scheduling
- Opportunities to gain more tickets and valuable experience
- Paid birthday leave
- $250 health and fitness subsidy (gym memberships, activewear, fishing rods etc)
