The Team
McCullough Robertson’s Construction and Infrastructure team is recognised for its ability to effectively guide clients through every phase of a project. With extensive experience advising on risk allocation and the successful delivery of major developments across Australia, we act as a true extension of our clients’ teams – responsive, commercially minded and solution-focused.
Our team provides end-to-end project support across a broad range of industries. We have played a key role in the delivery of mining and energy infrastructure, renewable energy projects including solar farms, wind farms and battery energy storage systems, essential utilities such as pipelines, water and wastewater facilities and electricity networks, as well as ports and airports, transport infrastructure including roads, rail and major social infrastructure projects.
The Role
We are recruiting for an enthusiastic and competent back-end lawyer to join our highly regarded Sydney Construction team.
This team operates across an array of construction and infrastructure disputes, including complex, contract disputes, regulatory enforcements, arbitration and Security of Payment adjudications. Their client base is primarily comprised of top and mid-tier contractors, and the team is renowned for providing innovative and commercially focused solutions.
The team is engaged on most of NSW’s large infrastructure projects, primarily with a contractor focus but also advising relevant government agencies. With a down-to-earth and commercial approach to legal services, the team competes with top-tier firms for major infrastructure back-end and project advisory work.
As a key member of a high-performing, experienced team, you will contribute your expertise in construction law across diverse industries. While based in Sydney, you will support clients with matters on a national scale.
Experience
As the successful candidate, you will be an experienced and capable back-end Construction Lawyer with 2-4 years’ PQE, gained within a mid to large sized law firm. You will have a genuine passion for construction law and a strong desire to further develop your expertise and build a long-term career in this area.
In addition, you will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, a proactive and collaborative approach and the confidence to manage matters autonomously while contributing positively to a close-knit and supportive team.
