Good people. Good work. Great opportunities.

McCullough Robertson is a commercially focused firm with a proud 100 year history, working with high-calibre national and international clients. We work on big matters in small teams, approaching each day with dedication and professionalism.

We provide exceptional opportunities for our employees to perform, grow and succeed through extensive training and career development. Our teams work together and support one another to achieve individual, team and firm-wide goals.

Backed by a national team of over 400 staff located in Brisbane and Sydney, McCullough Robertson combines a century of experience with a modern, collaborative approach, making us a big firm, without the attitude.

The Role

As a senior paralegal in our Real Estate group, you will be a key member of a close‑knit team working on a broad range of property and conveyancing matters, acting for both buyers and sellers on quality transactions.

This is a genuinely hands‑on, autonomous role. You will manage your own matters end‑to‑end and be accountable for your own billable targets, while still having the support of a collaborative team around you. You’ll gain exposure to interesting, often complex property deals and see matters through from initial instructions to completion, with the opportunity to refine processes and help shape how we deliver our services. We see our paralegals as an integral member of our team, not just support.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing, reviewing and assisting with the delivery of legal documentation;
  • Managing matter files end‑to‑end, including critical dates and milestones;
  • Coordinating communication between internal stakeholders, clients, and external parties (agents, other firms, financiers, authorities) to ensure efficient progression of transactions;
  • Undertaking searches and due diligence, and helping to identify and resolve issues early; and
  • Supporting the seamless delivery of commercial property and conveyancing transactions and contributing to process improvements within the team.

Your day-to-day work will be varied and commercially focused, including supporting property transactions and broader commercial property work, undertaking searches and due diligence, and contributing to the smooth delivery of complex property deals.

For a senior paralegal who enjoys ownership, client contact and high‑quality work – but also wants a supportive team, approachable partners and a firm with a genuinely good culture – this is an excellent opportunity to take the next step in your career.

Experience

As the successful candidate, you will be a senior paralegal with broad exposure to commercial property matters.

You will have a solid understanding of property law concepts and processes, along with well-developed drafting, document management, and matter coordination skills.

You will be highly organised, proactive, and commercially minded, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work to billable targets while maintaining exceptional attention to detail. Strong communication skills are essential, along with a positive and resilient approach to working in a fast-paced environment.

Equally, you will bring a collaborative mindset and a willingness to support the wider team, contributing to both client outcomes and the overall success of the practice.
