Catering HQ Group is seeking an enthusiastic Junior Pastry Chef Apprentice to join their experienced and dedicated team.

About the Role:

The successful applicant will gain valuable hands-on experience across pastry preparation, baking and presentation while contributing to the production of desserts for multiple venues.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the preparation, baking, cutting and presentation of pastry products
  • Producing consistently high-quality dishes and desserts
  • Supporting the preparation of desserts for large service numbers across multiple venues
  • Developing knowledge of emerging food trends, techniques and products
  • Following food safety, hygiene and WHS requirements
  • Reading and accurately following recipes and preparation instructions
  • Working collaboratively with the team to meet production deadlines
  • Contributing ideas while remaining open to feedback, guidance and learning
  • Maintaining a high standard of personal presentation and grooming

About You:

Catering HQ Group is looking for someone who:

  • Has a genuine interest in developing a career in pastry and commercial cookery
  • Holds or is currently studying a relevant Commercial Cookery qualification
  • Ideally has approximately one year of experience in a similar environment, although this is not essential
  • Is hardworking, reliable and willing to show initiative
  • Has a positive attitude and enjoys working as part of a team
  • Can accurately follow recipes and instructions
  • Is eager to learn and develop new skills
  • Is flexible with working hours, with shifts generally operating from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm
