Ternary Consulting is seeking caring, reliable, and motivated individuals to join their team as Trainee Community Support Workers across the Greater Southern Adelaide area.

This opportunity is ideal for people who do not currently hold an industry-recognised qualification and are looking to start a rewarding career in aged care while earning an income and completing a nationally recognised qualification.

About the Opportunity:

Successful applicants will undertake a 12 to 15-month paid traineeship, combining practical on-the-job experience with formal training to achieve a Certificate III in Individual Support (CHC33021) - Aged Care.

Trainees will gain hands-on experience supporting aged care clients in their homes while receiving paid training and study time throughout the program.

Multiple positions are available across the Greater Southern Adelaide region, from Edwardstown to Christies Beach. Employees will be placed within their local area and should be willing to travel up to approximately 25 minutes to support clients.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Trainee Community Support Worker, duties may include:

  • Providing domestic assistance, including vacuuming, mopping, changing linen, and general household cleaning
  • Bed making and maintaining tidy living spaces
  • Assisting clients with grocery shopping and errands
  • Providing transportation to and from appointments and community activities
  • Supporting clients with personal care, including showering, dressing, and grooming
  • Delivering respite and social support services
  • Building positive relationships with clients and their families
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and other care professionals

About the Ideal Candidate:

  • Have a positive attitude and a genuine desire to help others
  • Are reliable and possess strong communication skills
  • Want to make a difference in the lives of older Australians
  • Are eager to learn and develop new skills
  • Can obtain and pass a National Police Check
  • Hold a current South Australian Driver's Licence
  • Have access to a reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance
  • Are Australian or New Zealand citizens, or permanent residents eligible for traineeship funding
  • Have regular availability of at least four consistent weekdays per week (Monday to Friday)
  • Are physically capable of performing a variety of care and support tasks and can complete a fitness or health assessment
  • Have a genuine passion for caring for the elderly
