Ternary Consulting is seeking motivated and compassionate individuals to join their team as Trainee Community Support Workers across the Greater Newcastle region. This opportunity is ideal for people who do not currently hold an industry-recognised qualification and are looking to earn while they learn through a paid traineeship.
About the Opportunity:
Successful applicants will complete a 12 to 15-month traineeship, combining practical, hands-on experience with formal study to achieve a Certificate III in Individual Support (CHC33021) - Aged Care.
Trainees will work with real clients in their homes, receive ongoing support and training, and be paid while attending training sessions and study days.
Multiple positions are available throughout the Greater Newcastle area, including:
- Sandgate
- Wallsend
- Cardiff
- Toronto
- Belmont
Employees will be placed within their local area and should be willing to travel up to approximately 25 minutes to support clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing domestic assistance, including vacuuming, mopping, changing linen, and general household cleaning
- Bed making and room tidying
- Assisting clients with shopping and errands
- Providing transport to and from community appointments
- Supporting clients with personal care tasks, including showering, dressing, and grooming
- Delivering respite and social support services
- Building positive relationships with clients and their families
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and the broader care team
About the Ideal Candidate:
- Have a positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Are reliable and possess effective communication skills
- Have a genuine desire to support older Australians in their homes
- Are willing to learn and develop new skills
- Can obtain and pass a National Police Check
- Hold a current NSW Driver Licence
- Have access to a reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance
- Are Australian or New Zealand citizens, or permanent residents eligible for traineeship funding
- Are available to work a minimum of four consistent weekdays (Monday to Friday)
- Are physically capable of performing a variety of care and support tasks and can successfully complete a health assessment
- Have a genuine passion for helping and caring for others
- Hold a current First Aid and CPR Certificate, or are willing to obtain one
