Traineeship Child Care

The Childcare Trainee will gain hands-on experience across multiple early childhood education and care (ECEC) services while undertaking formal training toward a recognised qualification. Under the guidance of an experienced ECEC mentor, the trainee will learn to support children’s development, wellbeing, and learning in a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist educators in delivering age-appropriate, play-based learning experiences.
• Help maintain a safe, hygienic, and welcoming environment.
• Build positive, respectful relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
• Observe, document, and reflect on children’s learning and development under supervision.
• Participate in training, mentoring sessions, and professional development activities.
• Rotate across different service locations to gain varied sector experience.

Requirements:

• Commitment to undertaking a relevant ECEC qualification (e.g., Certificate III).
• Genuine interest in working with children and supporting their learning.
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow direction from mentors and supervisors.
• Willingness to travel between service locations.
