Apprenticeship - School Based Heavy Vehicle Mechanic

Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) is seeking expressions of interest from Year 10 students interested in undertaking a School Based Apprenticeship as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic at its Greenacre location.

Fire and Rescue NSW is one of the world's largest urban fire and rescue services and the busiest in Australia. Its purpose is to enhance community safety, quality of life and confidence by minimising the impact of hazards and emergency incidents on the people, property, environment and economy of NSW.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experience in a supportive team environment while working towards a nationally recognised qualification alongside your school studies.

About the Opportunity:

As a School Based Heavy Vehicle Mechanic Apprentice, the successful applicant will have the opportunity to develop valuable technical skills and industry experience while learning from experienced professionals within Fire and Rescue NSW.

The apprenticeship offers:

• 8 hours of work per week
• Working hours between 7:00 am and 3:30 pm
• A supportive and collaborative team environment
• A positive learning environment with ongoing support
• A formal qualification upon successful completion of the apprenticeship
• Free on-site gym facilities
• Free on-site car parking
• Practical experience within one of Australia's busiest fire and rescue services

Salary and Benefits:

The successful applicant will receive:

• $17.20 per hour
• 25% School Based Apprenticeship (SBA) loading for 1st Year
• Tool allowance of $39.20 per week
• Superannuation
