Who are we?
Macpac is New Zealand's original outdoor brand. Founded in Christchurch in 1973, we've made it our business to show people that life is better outside. We're a socially conscious business, and we operate in a way that is both ethical and sustainable. As a leader in the outdoor retail space, we have a responsibility to protect and preserve our wild places, and we take that responsibility very seriously. When all is said and done, we are adventurers - and our goal is to facilitate adventure for as many people as we possibly can.
As an Assistant Manager, you're key in supporting the Store Manager to help your store reach its full sales potential, operate smoothly, and create a positive, engaging work environment. To thrive here, you should ideally have:
- 2+ years management or leadership experience.
- The ability to lead by example and deliver top-tier customer service.
- An ability to motivate and inspire your team.
- Skills in training, driving floor sales, and achieving results.
- Experience in visual merchandising, stock control, health and safety and store security.
Having experience with outdoor clothing and equipment is not essential... a passion for the outdoors or travel is preferable.
Who are we looking for?
Macpac team members are:
- Adventure lovers, who are happiest when embracing the great outdoors.
- Eco-warriors, who walk the talk when it comes to sustainability.
- Experts, who are passionate about retail and love sharing their knowledge and growing their team.
- Team players, who understand that a good team is greater than the sum of its parts.
