We’re seeking a passionate and experienced retail leader to join Macpac Queenstown as a part-time 3IC (Third in Charge). In this role, you’ll support the Store Manager and Assistant Manager in driving sales, delivering outstanding customer experiences, and leading a motivated team. Ideally, you’ll bring at least two years of retail experience and proven ability to manage and inspire teams, though we’re also open to candidates with leadership experience in hospitality. Strong communication skills, problem-solving ability, and a genuine passion for outdoor gear and sustainability will set you apart. If you thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment, we’d love to hear from you.

  • Part-time permanent on-going role, based at Queenstown
  • 25 hours per week

To be successful in the role 

3IC's are responsible for supporting store operations and assisting with leading our teams.

  • Dedicated to building a “customer centric” culture to deliver the ultimate customer service experience every time
  • Sharing your product knowledge and experience
  • Leading, developing and motivating a team to meet their full potential
  • Able to thrive in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Experience in visual merchandising, stock control, health and safety, store security and basic financial reporting will be called upon regularly 

Having experience with outdoor clothing and equipment is not essential... a passion for the outdoors or travel is preferable.
