Macpac -3IC Wanaka

Macpac Wanaka is looking for a Third in Charge (3IC) to join the team on a fixed‑term basis until mid‑September, covering leave over the winter peak. This is a great opportunity for someone spending the season in town who loves the outdoors and thrives in a busy retail environment.

About the role

As 3IC, you’ll support the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager to keep the store running smoothly during our busiest time of year. You’ll be hands‑on on the shop floor, supporting the team, delivering great customer experiences, and stepping up into leadership when required.

To be successful in the role 

This role is set in a high energy environment. To thrive here, you should ideally have: 

• Retail or customer service experience (leadership experience an advantage, but not essential)
• Confidence supporting a team and stepping into a leadership role when required
• Strong communication and customer‑focused mindset
• Experience in visual merchandising, stock control, health and safety and store security would be beneficial

Having experience with outdoor clothing and equipment is not essential... a passion for the outdoors or travel is preferable.
