The project is a coal operation in the Bowen Basin area, located near Glenden, and is estimated to produce up to 10 million tonnes of hard coking coal per year.

Macmahon are currently seeking a site-based Maintenance Scheduler to join the Byerwen team. Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the position is responsible for organising the safe, efficient, accurate and cost effective maintenance scheduling of the mobile plant equipment.

Key duties/responsibilities include:

  • Develop and support the short range scheduling of maintenance activities including major and minor components for mobile equipment
  • Consolidate and sequence complex tasks
  • Check labour capacity vs requirements
  • Reviews job completion information & KPIs and adjust schedules to optimise
  • Validate and implement a preventive and predictive maintenance programs to include equipment inspection sheets, inspection intervals to maintain equipment reliability, preventive maintenance check sheets for all mobile plant equipment
  • Advise all scheduling personnel regarding up-to-date technical upgrades and/or improvements to maintenance/scheduling techniques
  • Attend, facilitate and promote daily and weekly scheduling meetings to drive collaboration of better planning results
  • Analyze failure to meet targets and conduct root cause analysis ensuring appropriate correction actions are applied
  • Assist in the determination of spare parts stock levels for all mobile equipment in the mine operations
  • Assist in the determination of all other consumable stock levels such as welding supplies, gases, fasteners, etc with logistics and maintenance personnel
  • Assist in the determination of all Major Maintenance Repair work and liaise with Central Planning to action

To be successful in this position you must have:

  • +5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrable experience with various CMM systems
  • Knowledge of Maintenance KPIs and reporting
  • Standard 11 induction
  • Coal Board Medical
  • Drivers Licence (manual)
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work within a team environment.
