MacKillop Education is a Catholic Specialist P-12 School that comprises of four school campuses in VIC; Geelong, Maidstone, Clifton Hill and Caulfield. It caters for children and young people who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from mainstream education. The students referred to MacKilllop have a history and/or ongoing experience of trauma and their needs are complex and diverse; self-regulation is difficult for our students and this can result in challenging social and emotional behaviours. 

 

ABOUT THE ROLE:

  • Program Planning & Delivery - Develop and deliver engaging, high-quality learning programs aligned to the Victorian Curriculum and senior pathways.
  • Inclusive Teaching Practice - Design and adapt programs to meet the diverse learning needs of all students.
  • Curriculum Compliance - Ensure all teaching programs meet curriculum standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Student Support - Provide classroom instruction and targeted 1:1 support where required to maximise student outcomes
  • Pathways Knowledge (Desirable) - Apply experience in VPC and/or VCE VM (Vocational Major) to support senior student pathways.


We have 1x Full-time, Fixed-Term until 26th of January 2027, opportunity based in Geelong Campus, VIC.


KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A four-year teaching qualification or equivalent and eligibility for Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration
  • Demonstrated understanding of and experience in implementing highly aspirational initiatives in student learning, informed by the Victorian Curriculum 
  • Experience in the design, delivery and assessment of programs that cater for the diverse and complex needs of individual learners, and engage students who have a range of learning difficulties and challenging behaviours
  • Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively and creatively with colleagues to improve the quality of programs and enhance student outcomes

You must have a:

  • Valid and current NSW Driver’s Licence;
  • VIT Clearance
  • Satisfactory Criminal History Check;
  • Valid Employee Working with Children Check;
  • Valid and current NDIS Workers Screening Check (for risk assessed / client facing roles)
