About the role

MacKillop’s Out of Home Care (OOHC) programs provide residential care, home based care, lead tenant and case management support for young people with high and complex needs, as well as a therapeutically oriented program for young people in protective placements.

Our Residential Services offers accommodation and support to children and young people who are referred through the Child Protection system. The House Supervisor is responsible to oversee the daily care of clients provided by residential care workers within their allocated residential care unit. The House Supervisor is a part of the Out of Home Care Program and reports to the Residential Care Coordinator.

This is a Full-time opportunity based in Fawkner, VIC within our Northern Residential Care Program. The position reports to the Northern Residential Coordinator.

 

Key Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A minimum Diploma of Community Services (Residential and out of home care), or other similar or relevant tertiary qualifications.
  • Proven skills and experience in development of behavioural management programs for children and adolescents with challenging behaviours.
  • Ability to participate collaboratively and constructively within teams of peers, staff and other stakeholders, as well as initiative and effective personal judgement when working alone.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the residential care field, particularly within a therapeutic environment.

  • Valid and current Driver’s Licence;
  • Satisfactory Criminal History Check (paid for by MacKillop);
