About the role:
The case worker - Specialist Homelessness Services will engage and support young people and their families experiencing non-chronic and nonentrenched issues including alcohol and/or other drug use, health, mental health, relationship, safety, education, culture and social justice issues, provide early intervention services including advice and support, group work and case management, to address issues; assist young people to remain connected to family, education and community; and reduce the likelihood of contact with the child protection, out of home care, specialist youth homelessness services or juvenile justice systems.
This is a Permanent Full-Time opportunity based in Blacktown, VIC within our Specialist Homelessness Service. The position reports to the SHS Team Leader.
Key Selection Criteria:
To be successful in this role, The incumbent will have:
- A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people and their families
- Demonstrated experience in working with young people aged 12 – 17 years and their families
- Demonstrated skills and experience in assessing client needs, developing case plans, and providing client-focused casework
- Demonstrated group work experience;

You must have a:
- Valid and current Driver’s Licence;
