Reporting to the HR Manager – Payroll, the Payroll Officer plays a key role within a long-standing team ensuring the efficient and accurate running of the fortnightly payroll as well as administering and maintaining the payroll system. The software used by the team is Aurion for payroll, and HumanForce for time and attendance.

A Payroll Officer is one of the most critical roles in the HR team and MacKillop.

The role is responsible for the smooth, effective and efficient administration of the payment of the organisation's salaries, wages and salary packaging in a timely manner and without error. There are also a lot of legal and statutory compliance required to be administered.

You will be continually supported throughout your journey by very diligent and experienced team members within the payroll and HR team.

Duties include complying with the appropriate awards and legislations, processing contracts, on and off boarding and PAYG tax, Superannuation, payment summary administration, reconciliations, month-end reporting etc.


This is a Permanent Full-time opportunity based in South Melbourne, VIC within our Payroll Team. The position reports to the HR Manager - Payroll.

You must have a:

  • Valid and current Driver’s Licence;
  • Satisfactory Criminal History Check (paid for by MacKillop);
  • Valid Employee Working with Children Check;
