About the role:

Join a Mission That Matters – Become Our Communications Coordinator

Are you a passionate communicator who wants to use your skills to make a real difference? We’re looking for a Communications Coordinator to join our dedicated team at McAuley Community Services for Women, a not-for-profit charity providing 24/7 refuge support, temporary accommodation, independent housing, and supported community care for those in need.

In this vital role, you'll help tell the powerful stories behind our work—raising awareness, building community support, and helping to create lasting change. You’ll produce engaging content across a range of platforms and audiences, working closely with the Communications Manager to deliver campaigns that support our strategic goals and shine a light on the people and purpose at the heart of what we do.

This is a Permanent Full-Time (38 hours per week) opportunity based in the heart of vibrant Footscray, with onsite parking, public transport, cafes and restaurants close by. You will be a member of our Communications, Advocacy and Fundraising program. The position reports to the Communications Manager.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in communications, marketing, journalism or a related field.
  • Preferably two or more years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience using and measuring the effectiveness of digital communication tools including social media channels, websites, intranets and EDMs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to write and produce high quality external and internal communication materials in line with McAuley’s brand and values.
