English Teacher

Secondary school English Teacher to teach stage 5 English and Preliminary and HSC English Standard at MacKillop Education Waranara School.

MacKillop Education Waranara School is an Independent Special Assistant School for students in years 9 to 12 located in Annandale. It caters for children and young people who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from mainstream education. The students referred to MacKilllop Education Waranara School have a history and/or ongoing experience of trauma and their needs are complex and diverse.

We have 1x Permanent Full-time opportunity available based in Annandale NSW within our MacKillop Education Program.

About the role:

The English Teacher will work collaboratively to develop and deliver highly effective and engaging learning programs that are suited to the diverse needs of our students and meet the requirements of NESA English Curriculum.

The English Teacher will design and deliver learning programs that meet the needs of all students and is compliant with curriculum requirements. This includes classroom teaching and 1:1 student support as required..

Key Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A four-year teaching qualification or equivalent and eligibility for NESA teacher accreditation
• Demonstrated understanding of and experience in implementing highly aspirational initiatives in student learning, informed by the NSW Curriculum 
• Experience in the design, delivery and assessment of programs that cater for the diverse and complex needs of individual learners, and engage students who have a range of learning difficulties.
• Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively and creatively with colleagues to improve the quality of programs and enhance student outcomes
