About the role:

The Intake Worker works collaboratively with the Family Therapy Supervisor to ensure the intake and exit functions for MacKillop’s FFT-CW Shoalhaven service operate effectively.


The Intake Worker is responsible for engaging with families who are referred to MacKillop’s Functional Family Therapy – Child Welfare (FFT-CW) Shoalhaven team, assisting families to understand the FFT CW service, and completing the intake and exit process for each family including the collection of pre and post FFT-CW service evaluation data.

 

This is a Permanent Full Time opportunity based in Wollongong, NSW within our FFT-CW Shoalhaven program. The position reports to the FFT-CW Family Therapy Supervisor.

 

Key Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated skills and experience in an intake or relevant service delivery role.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. Aboriginal Health Worker, Bachelor of Social Work, Psychology).
  • Highly developed interpersonal and engagement skills.
  • Ability to relate to children, young people and families from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
  • A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people and their families.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in data entry, spreadsheets and information systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of safe home visiting, risk identification and mitigation, and safety planning.
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders including DCJ, NGOs, ACCOs and the community.

You must have a:

  • Valid and current Driver’s Licence;
  • Satisfactory Criminal History Check (paid for by MacKillop);
  • Valid Employee Working with Children Check;
